You're growing from a dependent relationship with parents into an independent life style. Learn self-reliance and a healthy self-esteem before you enter into an interdependent relationship. Take time to accumulate wealth, get your education, pay your own bills, travel, and take care of your own personal and domestic needs.
Learn how to be secure in your own solitude. The more patience and time you give to this developmental stage, the less likely you are to become a needy person emotionally, sexually or financially.

4. Write down the goals and values you seek. What are you ready to expect, accept and reject in a relationship?

How Does your garden grow?

I know just about everyone experience a "dry spell" in their life. A time when your faith felt dull and circumstances in your life seemed uncertain. During this time in life, were we facing a recession, People are being laid off, Companies closing, People losing their home and so on and so on. So I understand how your lives seems uncertain at this time in life.

So if you're in a dry spell now, take heart.
God may be preparing you to be even more fruitful in the days ahead!

God trims our life to help us improve because he loves us and wants to perfect us (Heb. 12:10-11)

We all have seasons when our walk with God isn't as fresh as it has been. But we can keep a dry spell from becoming a drought with regular prayer, Bible Reading, and meaningful relationships with other members of your church.

During the dry spells we're most tempted to stop praying or reading the Bible. But that's when a garden needs water more than ever, and we need to receive encouragement by soaking up the rain God's already given us through his word, his Spirit, his communion, and his people.

God is the perfect gardener.

God is the perfect gardener.

God doesn't wonder how to care for us; he created us and calls us by name (Isa. 43: 1)
God never leaves a flower bed half-weeded, but finishes the good work he started in us (Phil. 1:6) God waters us when we're thirsty (John 4:14) and feeds us when we're hungry (John 6:35).
God gives us the faith to fight off the pests that would eat our fruit and stunt our growth (Eph 6:16) When we fail to take advantage of his pesticides, he even restores what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25).

Once we commit our lives to the Lord and give him Permission to come in and take over, he puts us in places where we have to grow to survive-and to realize our potential. Susan Baker

How much simpler and richer life would be if we'd stop trying to create our own rain or plant out own seeds and cling instead to the true vine and it's only gardener with all our heart, soul, and mind!

Tending Your Inner Garden...

1. Allow God to pull the weeds in your life.

2. Evaluate how you handle the rainy days.
Do you use tough times to grow as a Christian-or to complain?

3. Fertilize your spiritual growth.

The old slogan "Let go and let God" is both easier--- and more difficult----than you might think. But when we let God take over our self-gardens, he promises we'll get a bumper crop of righteousness!

Praying with Purpose

I discovered that the real purpose of prayer is not to obtain special blessings. It's to establish intimacy with God through regular communication with him. Without prayer, our relationship with God is one-sided; he communicates with us through his words, but we don't return the favor.

Certainly God knows our hopes and fears, our thoughts and feelings, before we tell him/her.
But telling God these things changes our perspective.

Prayer is cooperation with God: not getting what I want, but learning what he/she wants.

How often do we pray as Christ did? How often do we say " Father, bring glory to your name"?

Let's take it a step Further, Here are Tips for Getting in Touch with God.

(1) Take time to be quiet before God. Don't pepper the Lord with requests; instead just listen.
Even ten minutes spent alone can help you open yourself to God's Spirit.

(2) Pray through the Scriptures. Read a short section and then stop. Listen to God.
Talk to him about anything that strikes you in the passage. Let the Holy Spirit be your teacher.

(3) When you are especially busy, take a look at all the "little" things God provides for you each day: air to breathe, beauty in nature, food to eat, smiles form others, laughter, songs and music.
You'll never run out of things to glorify him for!

Let me ask you...What kind of things have you prayed for over the past week?
Are your prayers self-oriented, emphasizing your needs? Or do you thank God first for who he is and what he's done?

I can say for myself, I prayed for a job, because I'm out of work, I prayed for my family, that he will continue to bless us, I prayed for money to pay my bills and I know it's more I just can't remember, but my prayers have been a little self-oriented and I would say not really emphasizing my needs, because I pray for the family and also for my friends and the people in my community. I can say also that I thank God for who he is and what he's done for me, I do, do that, but I need pray more often then I do and that is one of my goals.

Actually, I can't wait until Christmas is over, I'm really don't celebrate Christmas because I think it's overrated and so are the other Holidays, that's my belief.

How I Thank You, heavenly father for this wonderful day you have bless me with, it's cold and it's plenty of snow here in Chicago, but I'm grateful for that, I'm grateful because I can see it, I can walk on it, I can feel it and if I want to I can taste it. I woke up this morning to a wonderful family, that you also have bless on this day, Thank You Jesus!
I just want to Thank You this morning Father God, for all you have blessed me with. I find myself complaining lately and maybe it's due to the people that's surrounding me with their complaints, but no longer will I complain about the things that I don't have,no longer will I allow others to surround me with their consist complaints, instead I'm gonna start giving Thanks for the great things that I have, I'm so grateful for the little things and the big things in my life. I realize, once I continue to do that Father God, I make way for better things to come. I really need a Prayer for Yesterday, Today and Forever More...

In this challenging situation, that my family and I are in, I'm trying to stay focus, I'm trying to stay in Peace, I'm trying to stay encourage, I'm trying to stay Motivated and last but not least, I'm trying to keep the faith. The way the economy is, I ask myself, should I even try to start a business, should I even try to relocate, should I even try to do anything.

I had to tell myself, just sit still and allow God to work, let go all the fears, the angry, all the negative energy and let God, just work. So, I decided to Pray about my situation and let go.
What else could I do? I was driving myself crazy, I'm not going to do it anymore, I'm let God handle this.

I found a prayer, from the The Book "Faith in The Valley" by Iyanla Vanzant

Dear God,

Have mercy on me. Your mercy, Your grace, Your Love, are my strength. Your mercy clears my mind, renews my soul, reminds me I am the loved child of a loving Father who knows my needs before I ask. Your mercy kindles love in my heart, wisdom in my mind, life in my human being. Have mercy on me.

This really moved me and also inspire me also, what a loving family, I really Love Michelle Obama and I definitely love her husband, our Black President Barack Obama for President of The United States. Even though it's been a couple of days since the election, I'm still waking up in the morning with shock and soooo much joy. I don't know about yall, but this proves what I was saying before to my family and other people as well, that we can accomplish anything we so desire in life if we work on it and work hard for it and don't forget about God also. Thank You Lord for Barack Obama, I believe he is the man for the job, we will see changes in the future for all and not only for black Americans. I believe the economy will still be bad for now and it will take time before we get to see any changes and it was also stated by Barack himself at the Grant Park celebration.

We have a Wonderful and Great Loving Family in the White House. Do you think we can paint the White House Black now? I'm kidding...LOL

Faith without works is dead. Faith doesn't make things easy, just possible. Faith is a verb. "When you pray, move your feet!" --- Old Quaker Saying

I have learned that my problems, which I call challenges, will either stop me, stress me or stretch me according to the size of my thinking and faith. Each time that I've been stretched to grow beyond my comfort zone, God was there. Each time I was stretched; I tapped into my power of creative problem solving, my flexibility, my sense of humor, my intelligence, my ability to let go, my inner strength and yes, stretched to give, be and do more than I ever knew was possible. Once you've been stretched to a new level of faith, vision and endurance --- you can't go back to old thinking. Stretching your faith and using your mental muscles to move mountains will allow you to be the head and not the tail of your circumstances.

If you Drive too fast, you might miss your turn. If you walk to fast, you might pass where you are going. If you speak to quickly, you demonstrate that you have missed the point. Slow down! You cannot arrive at your destination until you get there.

Along the way, take in the scenery. Stop, sit a spell, and rest yourself.

I have this book and as you can see it's written by Jewel Diamond Taylor, it's a fabulous book, it's one of those books, that you have to, keep going back to read, at least I say so:)
it's very motivational if your looking to be motivate. I desire to be inspired & motivated daily and I get both from God and I also receive both through reading Inspirational/motivational books, some people call them self-help books, I say call them what you want, what's the difference:)

I had a lot on my mine today and I been working on a lot of things today, mainly my School work, I been applying for jobs, reading my favorite blogs, at the same time watching House of Pain, my husband recorded for me, eating, feeding and playing with my children and all of this been going on and I haven't stop to say "Thank You" Thank You Lord for all of this...

Willing Obedience

I subscribe to Joel Olsteen Today's Word, this was sent to me yesterday, so I decided to share it with my family here, I truly love Joel Olsteen, he is incredible, he is such an inspiration to me, along with millions of others, I try to remember to watch him every Sunday on BET.

Every time I watch him, it always seem his messages are directed toward me, I love it!
I also know there are others who feel the same as I do, Am I Right?

Ok, enough of me blabbing let's get to it, here is the Fantastic Word that was email to me yesterday, When you get a chance check out Joel & Victoria Olsteen on Sundays nights on BET.

Today's Scripture

"If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land" (Isaiah 1:19).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

God wants you to have the best in life. He wants to give you the good of the land. God tells us in His Word how to activate His promises in our lives. Notice this verse doesn't say that just obedience will cause you to eat the good of the land, it says we have to be willing and obedient. God isn't just concerned with our actions. He's looking at the motives of our hearts. He wants us to understand His goodness and kindness which draws our hearts toward Him. He wants us to receive His love that causes us to respond to Him with love and obedience in return. Don't just serve God out of obligation today. Don't just read the Word because you think you have to. Instead, open your heart and see His goodness. Receive His love and acknowledge His faithfulness in your life. Let your willing obedience open the door to God's blessing. As you serve Him with a willing attitude, you will experience His favor and increase and live the abundant life He has for you.

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, search my heart today. Remove anything that stands in the way of my love for You. I choose to willingly obey You and thank You for giving me Your best. In Jesus' name, Amen.

This was beautiful and absolutely true, so let me ask you guys, Do you serve God out of obligation? Let me ask myself, Do I serve God out of obligation? Not, because I know that it's not about me and it's about God and that he/she is a good God, a God of love, I make sure I Pray daily, for his Peace, Love, Wisdom, and Strength, but I honestly don't read the Bible as much as I should, but it's a lot of things that I don't understand and I think that's one of the reasons why I don't read it as much, but I soon will:)

God wants you to have the best in life, I believe that's true and some people may not, but ask yourself, Why will God purposely create you? Just because you're going through some challenges doesn't mean God don't want the best for you. You are where you are for a purpose. And like I said...

Some people maybe struggling right now and just don't feel God is working in their favor, but let me tell you something don't give up, don't give up, you might be saying, what do I know, but let me tell you, my family & I are struggling, but guess what we are making it, you know why, because we believe and we keeping our faith strong through prayer and powerful affirmations that I keep posted around my home, along with Bible scriptures and we keeping our mine filled with positivity. I don't like to be stress and I don't like to see people stress out, what I'm learning is to just GO With The Flow, no matter what keep moving, keep praying, no matter what and look for Great things to happen, just watch.

So like Joel Olsteen stated receive his/her love acknowledge his/her faithfulness in your life.

Don't fight it!

Why is this in my world?
What do I need to see?
To know about myself through this situation?
Breathe again. Now, ask God:

Blessed and Divine Father/Mother, heal me of what-ever thought or belief has contributed to the cause of this experience. Bring me the lesson of this experience lovingly and gently.
Keep my mind and heart open that I may know the truth. Open my eyes that I may recognize your will.

"Right Where you are is where you need to be" is something I believe because you may seem to think differently, but what ever situation your in, your suppose to be there. Why? Because God says so that's why and don't ask him/her again.lol

Rather your unemployed, No Money, No Car, No place to stay or about to be evicted, your sad, no matter what, no matter what, you are where you need to be.

God is in the mist of all that and what I just came to realize and What I needed to see was It's not about me, It's about God and his/her purpose and plan for our life. We don't make the call, our master does.

I been walking around life, like it's all up to me and it took for me to be in changeling situation to realize it's ALL UP TO GOD! Not me...

What a relief to know this now, I love God, I trust him/her, I believe in his/her, I have faith that what ever situation my family and I are in, he/she is going to make a way for us, and we are in a tough situation, I mean tough and I still believe that "Right Where we are is where we need to be"

I'm keep praising the lord and keep praying, because we won't be sitting her long, I believe that for sure. How do I know for sure? Because I believe and I'm keep the "Faith"

I was reading, as always, I love to read, but anyway, I have Iyanla Vanzant book "Act of Faith" along with many more books of hers, I try to read them as much as possible, because when I'm feeling down, I silently pray or I move toward my Motivation & Inspirational books and honestly, it pulls me through and thats my opinion. I post Motivational & Inspirational quotes around my home, just to keep me on the right track and each time I pass by them I read them, it really helps me alot, but mainly and most importantly my Inspiration comes from up above, yelp, that's right, it don't get no better than GOD!

Giving Thanks,

We have so much in life to be thankful for. We talk, walk, see, hear, think, and breathe-usually without effort. Why do we spend so much time dwelling on what we can't do, don't have and what is going wrong? Why do we spend so much time dwelling on what we can't do, don't have and what is going wrong? We can instantly recall the negative experiences, people and circumstances without recognizing we have the ability to walk away, get away or make a change. Perhaps we have too many options from which to choose. Or it could be we simply like to complain. Maybe if we spent just a little time saying "Thank You" for what we do have, we won't
have so much time to dwell on what we lack.

Gratitude, praise and thanksgiving activate the divine laws of abundance. When the universe can see we are conscious of and grateful for what we have, it is activated to shower us with more.
